Rev. Seth Starkey

Seth was born and raised in Greenville, SC. He is an only child, a life long Clemson fan, and misses his football playing days for a few weeks every fall. He attended Newberry College in Newberry, SC receiving a B.S. in Business Administration. After graduation, he began summer Greek and 3 ½ years later completed his Mdiv. from Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte. Seth is married to Laura Lee, who hails from Knoxville, TN (her grandfather is a Mississippi State grad). He and Laura Lee have 3 amazing children who bring joy and excitement to everyone they meet. Prior to his time at Grace, Seth served as assistant pastor at Second Presbyterian Church in Greenville, SC, RUF campus minister at Belhaven University in Jackson, MS, and associate pastor at Madison Heights Church in Madison, MS.

Church Administrator

Lisa Vaughan
Our church administrator is Lisa Vaughan. A Starkville native, Lisa is married to Randy and they have 3 grown sons. After a career in elementary education, Lisa now fills her free time with family, fostering animals for the Humane Society and traveling. She is an active member of First Baptist Church.  

Children’s Ministry Director

Beth MeekMeek Family
Beth is a graduate of Mississippi State University, with a degree in Educational Psychology. She taught special education until she became a full time mom. For many years, she has been involved in children’s ministry and is grateful for the opportunities to serve. Beth, and her husband, Arthur, moved their family to Starkville in 2010. They have four children: Art, Meredith, Will, and Catherine.

Youth Leaders

Jason and Jennifer Krutz
Jason and Jennifer celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary June, 2018.  Both attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.  Jason completed his education at Texas A & M.  During their college years, God used Bible Study Fellowship ministry to teach Jason and Jennifer about Christ and His character.  They landed in the Mississippi Delta in 2004.  Jason and Jennifer joined Covenant Presbyterian Church in Cleveland, MS, where Jason served as an elder.  Jennifer is a stay-at-home mom to their five children, Abigail, Eli, Tatum Elizabeth, Liam Piper, and Teddy.  The Krutz Family moved to Starkville in the summer 2017 so that Jason could lead the Mississippi Water Resource Research Institute on MSU campus.  As they enter into the season of raising young adults, they look forward to humbly leading the youth families of Grace Presbyterian.

Caleb Franklin
Caleb Franklin is from Madison Mississippi and is very excited to be part of the youth team here at Grace. He is a sophomore at MSU and is enjoying studying Forestry Management. Before coming to Starkville, Caleb was home schooled along with his 4 other siblings. Caleb is evolved in RUF and is also a part of Army ROTC which he really likes. He is excited to get to know the youth at Grace and see what the Lord has planned for him when he graduates college.

Abigail Holman

Abigail Holman grew up in Kosciusko, Mississippi with 3 other siblings. She graduated from French Camp Academy and decided to study Nutrition and Spanish at Mississippi State. Abi is excited to be a part of the youth ministry at Grace, as it will give her an excuse to get coffee with girls and talk about life. At State, Abi has been active in RUF and overseas missions. She often can be found playing Ultimate Frisbee with some of her friends. When she graduates, Abigail hopes to go to Physical Therapy school.

Director of Music

Dr. Cliff Taylor

Dr. Clifton Taylor began duties as part-time Director of Music in January 2015.  He hails from a musical family in which both grandfathers were musicians, and his father and brothers are all currently professional musicians.  He has over 40 years of experience in choral and instrumental church music making.

Cliff is employed full time as Associate Director of Bands at Mississippi State University, where he holds the rank of Associate Professor.  Among his other duties, he co-directs the athletic bands, and there are occasional Sundays when he is away from Grace due to his travel with the band to perform at MSU games. 
In addition to his work at Grace and MSU, Cliff composes and arranges music for bands, directs the band program for the Starkville Homeschool Music Cooperative, performs as a professional trombonist, and serves as a leader with Grace’s Trail Life USA troop.  He and his wife Charlotte have two grown children, Clifton and Evelyn.

Gwyen Elizabeth Sutphin

Gwyen Elizabeth Sutphin has served as the pianist at Grace Presbyterian Church since January 2015.  She has grown up in Starkville since she was 8 months old. Gwyen Elizabeth is a senior majoring in Business Information Systems. She has completed her minor in piano at MSU where she is a member and plays piccolo with the Famous Maroon Marching Band and is the pianist for the MSU Jazz Band. She is an active member at First United Methodist Church, and is also a “preacher’s kid.” She is so thankful God blessed her with another amazing church family like Grace.

Ann Michal Carter, Intern


Anne Michal was born in Mississippi but traded one maroon for another when she moved from Starkville to College Station, Texas at age 8. She stayed in College Station for college, attending Texas A&M University where she majored in Kinesiology and met her husband Grant Carter. She was involved in RUF all four years and is excited to return to Starkville and work with Mississippi State RUF in the fall. Anne Michal loves all things sports but especially Aggie football and Braves baseball. She also enjoys podcasts, naps, reading, and being outside.

Grant Carter, Intern


Grant is from College Station, Texas and spent his childhood dribbling a basketball and annoying his younger brother. While in college at Texas A&M University, he started going to RUF and later met his spouse, Anne Michal. He is excited to be a part of the RUF at Mississippi State and is looking forward to the southern delicacies that are crawfish and boiled peanuts. Grant is commonly referred to as Mr. Kat and aspires to colonize Mars.
